1984

Founding of C&N Property Management

Established during the infancy of a burgeoning industry, Genesis was one of the first homeowner association management companies nationwide, setting the foundation for professional homeowner association services in this emerging field.

1994

Renaming to Genesis Property Management

In 1994, the company rebranded as Genesis Property Management, signaling a renewed commitment to growth, innovation, and excellence in the industry.

2000

Incorporation as Genesis Community Management, Inc.

With a strategic focus on expansion, the company was renamed Genesis Community Management, Inc. and formally incorporated, allowing for enhanced operational capacity and a broader range of services.

2008 – 2012

Digital Transformation and Process Automation

Between 2008 and 2012, Genesis transitioned to a fully digital office, introduced an automated payment plan module, and revamped the violation letter system for greater efficiency.

2019

Expansion into New Office Space 

Genesis moved to a larger, modern office, enhancing team productivity, client service capabilities, and operational efficiency, supporting continued growth and future-proofing our operations with advanced technology.

2024

Rebranding and Launch of New Solutions

Genesis unveiled a refreshed brand identity and launched a new website, incorporating advanced software solutions designed to elevate the homeowner experience and streamline operations.

Founder & President

Carl DeBarbieris founded Genesis Community Management in 1984, establishing himself as a pioneer in the homeowner association management industry. A key factor that sets Genesis apart is the custom management software Carl developed, serving the company for over 40 years. 

Alan DeBarbieris

Business Development

Alan DeBarbieris serves as the Business Development lead at Genesis Community Management. He holds dual degrees in Finance and Marketing from the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business. 

Santos Acuna

Controller

Santos Acuna serves as the Controller at Genesis Community Management, where he brings a dedication to precision and a meticulous approach to financial operations. A University of Houston Downtown graduate with a degree in Accounting, Santos joined Genesis in 2017. 

Natalie Tips

Director of Operations

Natalie Tips, a graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in Business Management, brings over 20 years of expertise to her role at Genesis Community Management. Known for her meticulous approach and commitment to excellence, she plays a pivotal role in the company’s daily operations.

Carl’s hands-on approach has been integral in ensuring that the company’s management strategies prioritize both the preservation of property values and the satisfaction of homeowners. His deep understanding of the industry, coupled with his innovative mindset, has positioned Genesis as a leader in its field. Outside of his professional endeavors, Carl enjoys spending quality time with his family and exploring the outdoors, passions that keep him grounded and connected to the community he serves.

Alan DeBarbieris

Business Development

Alan DeBarbieris serves as the Business Development lead at Genesis Community Management. He holds dual degrees in Finance and Marketing from the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business. Alan’s career began at Genesis, where he gained valuable experience in homeowner association management while pursuing his education. Over the past 15 years, he has expanded his expertise in the disaster recovery and construction sectors, specializing in business development and account management. His deep knowledge of construction plays a critical role in managing insurance claims and overseeing large-scale capital improvement projects for Genesis. Alan is also focused on driving sales growth, identifying new opportunities, and fostering strong client relationships. A proud father of two boys, Alan has been happily married since 2007.

Santos Acuna​

Controller

Santos Acuna serves as the Controller at Genesis Community Management, where he brings a dedication to precision and a meticulous approach to financial operations. A University of Houston Downtown graduate with a degree in Accounting, Santos joined Genesis in 2017. He is recognized for his strong work ethic and expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance, ensuring efficient and accurate operations. In his role, Santos oversees the entire accounting staff, ensuring all financial processes are executed with precision, which is essential to the financial health of the communities served by Genesis. Happily married and a proud father of four, Santos balances his professional responsibilities with his commitment to family.

Beyond her operational duties, Natalie is passionate about cultivating a positive, supportive work culture, prioritizing employee well-being and professional development. Outside of her professional life, she homeschools her children and is actively involved in her church, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to both family and community.
